Q: Can I reserve spaces and request an invoice?

A: Yes you can register online for places and we can send you an invoice. This is especially useful for customers on an account with us.

Q: Can I open a credit account?

A: Yes, subject to a credit check. All invoices are strictly payable 30 days from invoice date and we can’t send certificates until payment has arrived. To apply please download the credit account form here (pdf).

Q: I need my certification urgently, are you able to provide this?

A: Yes, we strive to provide you with your certification as soon as possible.  We ensure you get your certification within 4 weeks of your course (or as soon as payment is received if on account).

We send certificates 1st class recorded delivery or will drop them in personally to local customers. We also offer cover notes and E certificates on the day of training.

Q: Can Men with Beards have Qualitative Face Fits for Dust Masks if they have Facial Hair

A: A tight fitting face piece i.e, an FFP or half or full mask cannot be face fitted unless the person is clean shaven. Moreover, a person cannot wear a face mask in any event unless he is clean shaven. More on this here.

Q: How do I apply for my green cscs card?

A: In January 2020 CSCS and CITB changed the process of obtaining your Green CSCS card. CSCS have now introduced an apply online function which they will more than likely direct all delegates to when applying for their cards. More info and steps involved here.

Q: How do I claim a CITB grant with Site Safety Plus courses?

A: If your company is a CITB Levy paying member you will be able to claim a grant back from them for each delegate that attends a Site Safety Plus course. These include:

  • CITB Health and Safety Awareness,
  • SSSTS and
  • SMSTS courses.

In order to claim grant for the Site Safety Plus courses delegates need to make sure they have your company Levy Number and address details on the day of the training.

Each delegate will be given an assessment form where they need to complete section C on the course assessment reports giving their CITB Levy number and company details.

If however, for any reason delegates do not fill out section C on the paperwork then you can call the CITB Levy/Grant department on 0344 994 4455 who will help you.

Q: Do I need to renew my Green Labourers Card if I have an SSSTS / SMSTS Certificate?

A: You only need to renew your green labourers card if you want a labourers card as well as your SSSTS/SMSTS. There’s no obligation to hold a labourers card if you have a higher level qualification.

However, we advise you to check with any site you’re working for to see what they require, just to be sure.

Q: How to find out what CSCS card you need and how to apply for it.

A: The type of card you apply for depends on the occupation you do.  You can find out which card you need by going to CITB Card finder which will help you choose which card you need to apply for and which CITB Health, Safety and Environment text you need to book based on your occupation.

In most cases you will need to have passed the CITB Health, Safety and Environment test within the last two years and costs £19.50.

If you’re an individual applying for your own card, the quickest way is to phone the CITB on 0344 994 4777, you’ll need a bank card and the order will be processed whilst you are on the phone.
