This widley recognised IPAF course instructs an operator to prepare and safely operate 2 types of Mobile Elevated Working Platforms (MEWPS). The Mobile Vertical (3A) usually called scissor lifts and the Mobile Boom (3B) also know as cherry Pickers as per the IPAF guidelines.

Delegates learn how to safely operate both types of Mobile Elevated Work Platforms. Click here for a short video of  an IPAF course.

3A Category:

The 3A category refers to the safe use of Mobile Vertical machines usually called scissor lifts. Once they have been manoeuvred into the required position that can move straight up and down vertically.

3B Category:

The 3B category refers to the safe use of Mobile Boom machines commonly known as ‘Cherry Pickers’ which are self-propelled booms which can be articulated.

To ensure you are undertaking the correct category please click here to view IPAF categories.

Course includes:

  • MEWP regulations and guidance
  • Machine types and use
  • Responsibilities of employees and employers
  • Pre use safety checks and inspection

Due to Coronavirus and to ensure all delegates and trainers safety the IPAF course will be split into an AM and PM session with smaller groups. We will advise at the time of booking which session delegates will be allocated to.

Delegates will be required to complete the theory and theory exam via an e-learning portal before the course date. Delegates on the day of the course will complete the practical assessment. On the day delegates will only need to attend for half a day.

IPAF training is provided through one of our external IPAF registered training providers.

Feedback from the guys regarding the recent IPAF course, all 4 have completed it now and thoroughly enjoyed it! The guy was great, really informative (they’ve all come away having learnt lots of new stuff and with questions to ask at the next SHE meeting!) and lunch was provided for them, bonus!!
