We originally started as Optimum Training in 2007 – a division of Optimum Drywall Systems Ltd.
After 4 years of success and many outstanding reviews, The Training Societi was established in 2011 to roll out health and safety training to more companies.
Today we still provide the highest standards of training from experienced consultants.

Alan Bigwood – Technical Director
Formerly responsible for Health & Safety at All Mass Cladding, a large roofing and cladding company that worked across the UK.
After building the company from scratch, to the company that almost (in his words) “clad the world”, he became responsible for ensuring all HSE & Site Health & Safety Rules and Regulations were adhered to and applied on multiple construction sites (All Mass were an A-List Subcontractor who worked with all the Principle Contractors) – it also included putting in a system to ensure all employed and subcontracted gangs were up to date with training.
Alan’s enthusiasm and passion for his subject as well as his vast memory of experiences and a desire to ‘give back’ makes him the perfect person to set the standards and direct our training team. He has “walked the walk”, and now he “talks the talk”and can emphasise and help with delegates and business owners to guide them through the maze of Health and Safety.
As a perfectionist, Alan’s motto is “if you’re not going to do it properly it’s not worth doing” Alan always gives that bit extra – which is so important in this industry.
Katherine Burn – Operations Director
Katherine joined in 2014 and is now an integral part of the smooth running of the company.
Katherine comes from a customer service background having previously managed in retail, leisure and Bingo companies.
Katherine and Alan both share the same motto and strive to achieve perfection along with professionalism while ensuring delegates enjoy their courses at the Training Societi.
Greg’s main expertise lies within the financial services industry. He was the founding Partner of EveryStep Financial and the AdviserGroup and now manages Adviserloan, AdviserWill and EveryStep Financial. He is also a practising Partner with True Potential Wealth Management where he advises individuals and businesses on investments, pensions and tax planning.
Greg’s dream is to create companies that make it simple, fast and efficient to transact business. He prides himself on staff retention and loyalty and likes to invest and empower his staff who he perceives as his biggest asset.
Greg is passionate about ensuring the trades have access to make informed choices to safeguard their health and safety in the workplace; whilst ensuring their loved ones and lifestyle are equally protected.

Earthworks UK Ltd is a haulage, recycling and plant hire company based in the South West.
Earthworks UK have depots in Bristol and Gloucestershire which enables them to cover a large area whilst maintaining competitiveness.
They are now first point of contact for hundreds of local and national companies including Morrisons Utilities, Lynch, Keyline and Alun Griffiths to name but a few. Having had many years of experience in the construction industry with dozens of staff on Earthworks’ books Paul knows how important it is to not only have the correct training but also to have it delivered in a way that it stays fresh in delegates minds.
