1 Day Emergency First Aid Training
The workplace can often be a dangerous place with many potential or existing hazards.
Participants develop the skills necessary to become a competent and confident First Aider in their work place and are awarded a First Aid at Work certificate, valid for 5 years. We do however, recommend an annual refresher.
The one day course provides delegates with the essential basic first aid skills and knowledge required.
You can book as an individual onto one of our open courses or we can deliver a group session for up to 12 delegates at your workplace.
This course meets the requirements of the Health & Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981 as amended in 2013.
- Understanding the role of the first aider
- Record keeping
- Personal hygiene and infection control
- The unconscious casualty
- Cardiopulmonary resuscitation
- Management of choking/asthma
- Providing appropriate first aid for minor injuries
- Defibrillator for cardiac arrest.
Who needs an emergency first aid qualification
This course is particularly suitable for lower risk environments. It's designed for people whose employment requires them to manage a medical situation until help arrives. Regular attendees include people working in schools, offices and many small to medium sized businesses.

Q: How is this First Aid course assessed?
A: There is no final practical assessment on this course. The participant’s competency is continually assessed by the facilitator over the course of the day.
Q: What First Aid course should I go on? The 3 day FAAW or the 1 day EFAW?
A: Whilst there are no hard and fast rules, HSE have published guidance on their website (http://www.hse.gov.uk/firstaid/needs-assessment.htm) which explains all the factors you need to think about before deciding what First Aid course is best for you. We also advise you to ask whoever your employer to see what they advise. At the end of the day the questions best asked is if something did happen on site, would you be able to deal with it? If you were in court because of an incident, would the judge think your training was adequate? Whatever route you decide upon, we would be happy to help you with either the 3 day or 1 day course.
